1:1000 T-S 1a Kota A is a model of an object of the Czechoslovak fortifications in 1:1000 scale from ROP o.s. It is supplied as a kit to be assembled and painted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The model captures an object listed under the designation T-S 1a with the code name Kota A. The letter abbreviation in the designation corresponds to the construction sector, the number to the sequence of the object, and the letter attribute after the number distinguishes objects recorded under the same sequential number. That is precisely why a sister object with the suffix 1b also exists, which can be built beside it. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The 1:1000 scale means that one millimeter on the model corresponds to one meter of the real subject. The finished object therefore comes out at a few centimeters. The detail is for that reason reduced to mass and the main features of shape, which puts the emphasis on two things: a cleanly glued and sanded outline, and a transition of color that divides the mass legibly. On the other hand, nothing that takes time in the large scales is dealt with here, that is the interior equipment, the reveals of the embrasures or the railings.
Before gluing, check the mating surfaces and level any production residue with fine abrasive paper. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts. Apply the paint with an airbrush or a soft brush in thin coats, as a thick coat will fill in the suggested edges. A tried and tested procedure is a light gray concrete base, a dark wash into the recesses over it and a dry brush on the edges at the end. If you are setting the object into terrain of your own, reckon with the fact that many fortification objects were sunk in and banked up, so the model will partly disappear into the slope and only its front part will rise above the surface.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
