1:200 Sisoj Wielikij

RB model 1:200 — turned barrels for the Sisoy Veliky

A set of turned metal guns in 1:200 scale intended to replace the plastic barrels on a model of the Russian battleship Sisoy Veliky. It is not a model of the ship but a refining accessory: precisely turned barrels have clean muzzles and the right shape and give a model a realistic look that plastic parts cannot reach.

The real subject

The Sisoy Veliky was a Russian battleship (a pre-dreadnought) of the end of the 19th century. It carried main artillery of 305 mm in two twin turrets, complemented by a secondary battery of 152 mm. It took part in the Russo-Japanese War and in the Battle of Tsushima in 1905, after which it was lost.

Usage tips

• Cut off the plastic barrels and, if needed, drill out the holes so that the metal parts seat firmly.
• Glue the metal barrels with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
• Degrease the parts before gluing, and keep the muzzles clean after varnishing.
• Match the color of the barrels to the rest of the armament with an airbrush.

Who the accessory is for

• For builders of ship models in 1:200 scale who want to raise the realism of the armament.
• For modelers who are not satisfied with the plastic barrels of the base kit.

This is an accessory for a model, not a standalone ship kit. Neither the model nor the paints are included in the package.
