A set of photo-etched parts for detailing a model of the racing Toyota Corona ST191 in the specification of the 1994 Japanese touring car championship. It is a photo-etched accessory for automobile models in 1:24 scale. Although the name sounds like the name of a kit, this is an add-on: the model of the car itself is not included in the package and has to be bought separately.
Photo-etched parts replace features that either cannot be made from plastic in the right thickness or come out too coarse on a model: grilles, catches, straps, interior detail and suspension parts. On racing touring cars, where a lot of the engineering is on show, it is exactly these small things that decide whether the model looks like a toy or like a scaled-down car. The Toyota Corona ST191 belonged to the cars of the Japanese touring car championship of the mid-1990s, which was raced in the two-liter class of production-based bodyshells.
Do not cut the fret with scissors: separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, ideally glass, so that they do not curl. Make the folds in a bending tool or between two razor blades, always along the etched line. Degrease the parts before gluing; super glue holds on them, and on larger areas a two-part epoxy helps, or soldering. Metal needs a primer, otherwise the paint flakes off; a thin coat of base from a spray can or an airbrush works best. Let the parts shine where it makes sense: polished metal on exhaust pipes or grilles looks better than a uniform coat.
The set contains only the add-on photo-etched parts. The car model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
