An injection-molded plastic kit of the iconic compact Volkswagen Golf GTI of the first generation in 1:24 scale from Revell. The model is made up of parts that have to be assembled, painted and completed with decals. The result is a faithful miniature of one of the most significant sporting hatchbacks in automotive history.
The Golf GTI of the first series became the model for the whole class of what are known as hot hatches at the end of the 1970s. Into the practical body of the compact Golf it put a powerful fuel-injected gasoline four-cylinder, front-wheel drive and low weight. Its trademarks were the red trim around the grille, sporting details and a gearshift knob in the shape of a golf ball. To this day it is a sought-after youngtimer.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a sharp knife and glue the joints with a thin glue for plastic. It is a good idea to sand the body before painting and to prime it; apply gloss shades with an airbrush over a smooth base. A layer of gloss varnish helps under the decals, and the matte surfaces of the interior are best finished last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
