Yamamoto Model Parts is a Polish brand focused on accessories for car kits. A model of the vehicle is not part of the package; what you are buying is replacement wheels to be installed in a model.
A multi-piece rim with a deep lip and a solid spoke face belongs among the most striking elements of the Japanese tuning scene. An injection mold, however, cannot render it faithfully: a plastic rim out of a kit tends to have a shallow lip, rounded edges and a blurred transition between the spoke face and the barrel, so the depth of the wheel disappears. A replacement rim gives back the crisp separation of the lip and a legible spoke face surface. The eighteen-inch version also lowers and tightens the look of the car, which is why it suits more extreme conversions, while a smaller diameter becomes more civilian cars.
The fixing on five nuts corresponds to cars with a larger bolt pattern, that is typically to more powerful and heavier models. The four-nut version of the same rim belongs on smaller cars. The hub is clearly visible from the side, so someone who knows will spot the wrong number of nuts immediately. If you are building a particular real subject, check its bolt pattern and choose the matching variant.
Take the original wheels off and dry-fit the seating first; watch the track and the clearance in the wheel arch, as with larger wheels a clash with the arch is more common. Before painting, wash them in lukewarm water with dish soap and spray them with a primer. Spray the spoke face for a smooth surface, set the lip apart in a polished metal shade and put a discreet dark wash into the recesses around the nuts. Glue the wheels on only once the chassis is painted.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The tires, the car model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
