1:32 Digital Sukhoi Su-25M1 masks

FOXBOT 1:32 masking set — Su-25M1 digital camouflage

The product holds masking templates for spraying the angular digital camouflage pattern, not decals and not a model. A scale of 1:32 means a large model and masks of a matching size: the individual fields of the pattern are clearly visible on the model, so it is worth paying attention here both to the accuracy of the joins and to the quality of the edges.

The real subject

The Su-25 is a subsonic ground-attack aircraft intended to operate over the battlefield from low altitude, with the emphasis on a tough airframe and simple maintenance. The M1 designation belongs to the modernized Ukrainian version, in which the avionics equipment was changed above all. The modernized aircraft also received new camouflage finishes, among them a multicolor pattern made up of small angular fields.

What the large scale calls for

• In a larger scale the edge of the sprayed paint is more prominent — all the more reason to apply the paint in thin coats.
• Join the adjoining segments of the mask with a minimal gap; in a large scale a gap will create a visible stripe of the base color.
• On large areas map out the order of spraying, so that one field does not end up left uncovered.
• Between coats of different shades consider light sanding with a very fine abrasive, so that the edges stay flat.
• Lift the masks in the order in which you applied them, and peel them back low over the surface.

Who the set is for

For modelers who build the Su-25M1 in 1:32 scale and want to spray the busy pixel pattern faithfully and without improvising. The demands on a clean finish are higher in a large scale than on small models, so the set is aimed at more experienced builders.

This is an accessory for a kit. The model, the paints, the decals and the clear coat are not included in the package.
