The real subject

The set is intended for a model of the North American F-100C Super Sabre fighter in 1:32 scale. On a model of this size the interior is one of the places that are clearly visible under an open canopy, and simplified kit parts show there the most.

What the set contains

Photo-etched parts for the interior, that is fine flat elements that replace or supplement the kit parts. Photo-etch allows a thickness and a crispness that cannot be achieved on an injection-molded part, which is why it is used for belts, levers, frames, placards and other small items. The result is the more noticeable the more you can see into the cockpit.

Building tips

• Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with cutters.
• Make the bends over a straight edge or in a bending tool, in one movement.
• Glue with a minute amount of cyanoacrylate, ideally applied with a toothpick.
• Degrease the parts before painting and cover them with a metal primer.
• Always dry-fit; a mistake in photo-etch is hard to put right once it is glued.

Who the set is for

It suits a modeler who has already worked with photo-etch, and also someone who wants to get used to it in a larger scale, where the parts are a little easier to handle. Count on photo-etch work lengthening the build and on needing a sharp blade and tweezers. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
