Decals for the P-47D Thunderbolt in the early razorback version from the fighting over New Guinea, 1:32 scale, part two.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a massive American fighter of the Second World War with a radial piston engine. The early version, which is called razorback, has the spine of the fuselage running on continuously behind the cockpit and a framed canopy, unlike the later machines with a bubble canopy and a cut-down spine. New Guinea was one of the theaters where these machines flew.
This is a decal sheet in 1:32 scale for the early razorbacks deployed over New Guinea; it is part two of a multi-part series, so the choice of machines does not overlap between the individual parts. How many markings the sheet offers, which particular machines it targets and whether it also contains technical lettering is given in the instructions enclosed with the sheet.
The base has to be smooth and glossy; on a flat coat air stays under the decal and the edge goes white. Cut the elements out one at a time, close to the printing. The usual procedure is the wet one: a brief dip in lukewarm water, a moment on the paper until the element starts to release, and the move to its place. Draw the water out from under it with a cotton swab from the center toward the edges and use decal softener. Once it has dried, give the model a clear coat. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is a self-adhesive release: a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined beyond recovery, whereas a waterslide decal that has not been soaked can be soaked later.
It is for modelers who build the Thunderbolt in the early version and want markings other than those from the kit. Check that your kit is a razorback: some elements will not fit the version with a bubble canopy. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
