Yahu Models 1:32 P-47 Late is a finished color photo-etched instrument panel for the late Thunderbolt with a bubble canopy. It replaces the plastic part of the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit of an aircraft but an addition for the cockpit. The set holds a photo-etched instrument panel printed in color at the factory, so it has legible dials, lettering and colored accents on the controls, which are hard to achieve by hand painting at this scale. The form matches the late Thunderbolts with a cut-down upper fuselage and a bubble canopy, on which the pilot's compartment is practically all on view.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was a massive single-engined fighter with a Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engine and a turbocharger mounted at the rear of the fuselage. The late versions received a modified upper fuselage and a bubble canopy, which gave the pilot an all-round view. A robust structure, heavy machine gun armament in the wings and the ability to carry bombs and unguided rockets made the aircraft one of the most effective machines for supporting ground troops at the end of the war.
Try the fit dry before gluing. Sand the raised relief of the instruments off the plastic part, so that the photo-etched panel seats flat and the canopy can be closed once the build is finished. Glue it with a small amount of cyanoacrylate or a glue for photo-etched parts, applied with a wooden stick around the edge of the part. Do not expose the printed surfaces to solvents. You will get the impression of glazed instruments with a drop of clear gloss varnish in each dial.
This is an addition for the cockpit, not a kit of an aircraft. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
