The injection-molded plastic kit from the maker Trumpeter captures the Chinese two-seat supersonic trainer FT-6 in the large 1:32 scale. Besides parts of clear and colored plastic, the package also holds resin parts and a decal sheet; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The FT-6 is the two-seat training version of the F-6 fighter, which was the Chinese counterpart of the Soviet MiG-19. The Shenyang aircraft factory developed it, the prototype first flew in 1970 and the machine was put into production in the second half of the 1970s. It served to convert pilots onto supersonic hardware and stayed in production until the middle of the 1980s.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts first and cut the casting blocks away, and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Glue the plastic parts with a thin modeling cement. Apply a primer before painting and spray the large areas of the airframe with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
