T-34 tracks with the waffle pattern, 500 mm wide on the real subject, in 1:16 scale from PANZER ART. A resin accessory for a large-scale model of the Soviet medium tank.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin set of tracks for models of the Soviet T-34 medium tank in 1:16 scale, in the form matching the wide track with the so-called waffle pattern. It is not a tank kit but an accessory for the modeler who wants sharper shapes and a full surface texture on the running gear. With the T-34 that matters twice over: the track is wide, it takes up a large area on the model and its surface is a rewarding place for weathering.
The T-34 made its name through the combination of sloped armor, a powerful engine and a wide track, thanks to which it had low ground pressure and good mobility over mud and snow. The track links were pressed and cast in several production forms, among which the typical waffle pattern on the contact surface is one of the distinguishing marks. The form of the track is therefore used as one of the clues in identifying the production batch and period of service of a particular machine.
Always wash the resin in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting and rid it of the casting blocks; do the sanding with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Painting is rewarding on this track: the waffle relief catches dry brushing and pigments beautifully. A proven procedure is a dark brown-black base, light dry brushing in a steel shade over the raised edges once it has dried, and dusting with pigments at the end. Leave the surfaces the wheel rolls over glossier and more metallic than the rest of the track; that contrast is exactly what makes the running gear look alive.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
