About product

US Army helicopter pilot, Vietnam, 1:32 (Aerobonus)

A resin figure to be painted, not a model. This set in finely cast resin contains a figure of a US Army helicopter pilot from the Vietnam War period in 1:32 scale. The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted and is intended to bring a helicopter cockpit to life or to be displayed beside a model. Working with resin suits more experienced modelers.

The character and the real subject

The figure shows an American helicopter pilot in the typical kit of the 1960s and 1970s: a flight suit, a protective helmet and a survival vest. It was the helicopter crews above all that became the symbol of the air war in Vietnam, where the machines flew transport, gunship and rescue missions. The figure is a natural companion to models of period helicopters.

Painting tips

  • Wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove mold release residue
  • Cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces gently with respiratory protection
  • Bond the parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate)
  • Apply primer and finish the face and the kit details with a brush, oils or a wash

Who the figure is for

  • For builders of Vietnam War helicopters in 1:32 scale
  • For creators of aviation dioramas and scenes
  • For lovers of figures and of American aviation history

The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted; a helicopter model is not included. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
