Vane Gun Sights 1:32 is a set of resin vane sights for flexible aircraft machine guns. It is a small accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings vane sights for flexible aircraft machine guns in 1:32 scale. In a larger scale the details of the guns are studied from close up, and a missing or crudely suggested sight is distracting there. Resin castings make it possible to produce the thin rings and vanes that cannot be molded in injected plastic. This is not an aircraft kit but an accessory fitted to the armament of a model under construction or already finished, and it can also be used in a scene with a figure.
Vane sights were part of the equipment of the flexible machine guns of First World War airplanes. Firing from a moving airplane at a moving target called for lead, and a simple mechanical device with a vane deflected by the oncoming airstream helped the gunner judge the correction needed. The sight had no optics and was usually mounted directly on the gun.
Work over a mat and with tweezers, as the parts are tiny even in this scale. First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water because of the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a sharp blade or the finest saw and level the area. It is bonded with super glue, that is cyanoacrylate, in the smallest possible amount — an excess would flood the fine shape. Lay the paint on in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, and bring out the detail with only a light wash.
This is an accessory, not a complete kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
