An accessory ammunition set in 1:35 scale: the 8.8 cm Sprgr.Patr. L/4.5 high-explosive round for the Kw.K.43 gun.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set captures a fixed round of 8.8 cm caliber for the Kw.K.43 gun, that is, for the long eighty-eight with a barrel seventy-one times the caliber in length, which was carried by the Tiger II heavy tank. The size of such a round is a detail in itself which tells a viewer on the model how large a weapon this was: one piece takes up considerably more room in a stowage bin than the ammunition of medium tanks.
The number after the letter L does not refer to the barrel in this case but to the projectile itself, and gives its length in multiples of the caliber. Sprenggranatpatrone means high-explosive ammunition. That was not intended against armored targets but against infantry, firing positions, artillery and buildings, that is, against what an armor-piercing projectile would be wasted on.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest off so that the edge of the mouth of the case stays regular. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. On German ammunition the color coding of projectiles differed according to the type of filling and the period, so work from a period photograph or from the manufacturer's instructions; those are also a guide to the choice of glue, because that depends on the material of the parts.
It will find use on models with an open interior, in a scene with ammunition being replenished and with spent cases stacked beside a vehicle. Paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
