1:35 GAZ-AA and GAZ-AAA is a Hauler photo-etched accessory set for kits of the Soviet trucks, not a model of the vehicle. It covers the two-axle and the three-axle variant and replaces thin sheet-metal parts with metal.

A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Hauler for kits of the Soviet trucks. The package holds no model of the vehicle; these are accessory metal parts exclusively, for a kit you already have, and the set is cut for the Zvezda, Eastern Express or Toko kits. It is interesting in that it covers both related variants of the car, so it suits modelers who build from different boxes of the same family too.
The GAZ-AA was a Soviet truck with a payload of roughly 1.5 tons, produced in enormous numbers under license from an American design. The GAZ-AAA was its three-axle version with the rear two axles driven, that is, a 6x4 arrangement, with better cross-country performance and a higher load capacity. Both types belonged to the absolute basis of Soviet army transport and became the chassis for a whole series of bodies - tankers, workshops, radio stations and weapon platforms. The body was simple, of thin sheet and wood, and in wartime production simplified further still.
The most important difference from plastic is the glue. Metal cannot be glued with glue for polystyrene, which works on the principle of dissolving the plastic - use super glue on a cyanoacrylate base. The thicker variant proves its worth, because it gives a few seconds to fine-tune the position of the part, whereas the thin kind runs into the seams by capillary action and floods the detail. Dose a drop of glue onto a piece of old plastic and take it up from there with the tip of a piece of wire or a toothpick, and never glue straight from the bottle. The white bloom around a joint arises from the vapors of super glue, so work in a ventilated space and use the least glue you can. With the thin sheet-metal parts of a truck, use the fact that metal keeps its shape: a slightly bowed side or a damaged step plate looks more credible than a perfectly flat area. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer for metal.
