Quickwheel 1:35 M24 Chaffee, NM-116 is a masking set for road wheels, cut for the AFV Club kit. It separates the rubber tire from the hub on both versions of the light tank.

This is not a kit but a masking accessory to one. The set for the wheels of the M24 Chaffee light tank and its later modernized form, the NM-116, in 1:35 scale separates the rubber tire from the hub. The cut belongs to the wheels of the AFV Club kit; with wheel masks the shape is tied to a particular casting, so check the match with your own kit beforehand.
The M24 is a light tank with independently sprung wheels on torsion bars: there are five on each side and they stand noticeably further apart than on tanks with bogie suspension. The wheels have a pronounced rubber ring around the hub and are easy to reach, which at the same time means that they are easy to see. The NM-116 is a later conversion of the same vehicle in which the running gear stays essentially the same, which is why one set covers both designations in the name. At the front there is a toothed drive sprocket and at the rear an idler wheel, both of a different shape from the road wheels. Unlike the heavier types, nothing here is hidden by heavy side skirts, so the whole circle of the wheel is judged, not just its lower segment.
A circular template or a compass cutter gives one diameter, but the tire ring is an annulus with two edges. For the result to fit you have to hit both diameters and center them on the wheel as well, and that ten times over. A ready-made mask has both diameters set and is centered on the part, so the hardest part of the work falls away. Paint the wheels, mask them and spray them while they are still separate and can be held by the axle.
This is an accessory to a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
