A sheet of water-release decals from the Polish manufacturer Techmod in 1:35 scale, intended for a model of the German heavy tank Pz.Kpfw.VI Tiger Ausf.E in the form of the early production series. This is not a kit, but an accessory with which an already built and painted model is marked. A thin carrier film is particularly useful on vehicles — on the large flat areas of the turret and the hull the decal leaves no visible step.
The Tiger Ausf.E was a German heavy tank armed with an 88 mm gun and protected by thick, mostly vertically set armor. The vehicles of the early series differ from the later ones in several striking details: the commander's cupola with vision slits, the deep wading equipment and the cylindrical air filters on the rear of the hull, which stopped being fitted later on. In service, the tanks were marked with national crosses and above all with large tactical numbers on the sides of the turret, whose shape, color and outlining differed markedly according to the unit and the period.
Spray the model with a gloss varnish where the decals are to go — on matte camouflage paint a light frame would appear under the film. Settle the decal with plenty of water and press the bubbles out with a soft cloth. On a rough casting, on a textured surface or over rivets, use a decal softener. Apply the decals before weathering: only after a coat of varnish do the washes, filters and dry pigments follow, with which you partly dust the markings over and blend them into the overall wear of the vehicle. It is exactly on vehicles that a freshly looking decal on an otherwise muddy hull looks unnatural.
This is a separate set of decals. The model, paints and weathering products are not included in the package.
