Eduard 1:35 Zimmerit StuG.III Ausf.G is a photo-etched set imitating the Zimmerit coating for a plastic model of the German StuG III Ausf.G assault gun. It is not a model but an application detail accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set brings an imitation of Zimmerit for a plastic model of the German StuG III Ausf.G assault gun in 1:35 scale. Zimmerit was a paste-like anti-magnetic coating applied to the vertical armor surfaces, so that magnetic charges could not be stuck onto them. The formed photo-etched parts faithfully capture the structure of the coating and are stuck straight onto the surface of the model. This is an accessory, not a stand-alone kit.
The StuG III (Sturmgeschütz III) Ausf.G was the most widespread German assault gun of the Second World War, built on the chassis of the Panzer III tank. In the late Ausf.G version it carried a gun of 75 mm caliber in a low fixed casemate with no rotating turret, which made it a feared and cheaply built tank destroyer. Zimmerit was applied to these machines from 1943 until roughly the autumn of 1944.
Separate the parts and lay them on the degreased surface of the model, then glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Work patiently, so that the surfaces carry over into one another. Once they are stuck on, go over the metal with a base paint. The structure of the Zimmerit stands out once a wash and dry brushing have been applied.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
