Responsibility details are not available.
This short-run injection-molded kit in 1:350 scale captures the American Sturgeon-class nuclear attack submarine in the lengthened hull version (Long Hull). The kit from the Ukrainian manufacturer Mikromir is completed by photo-etched parts and decals. The submarine can be built as a full-hull model on a stand.
The Sturgeon class was a numerous line of American nuclear attack submarines (SSN) introduced in the 1960s, which formed the backbone of the US submarine force for most of the Cold War. The lengthened units (Long Hull) had a longer hull for extended equipment. The submarines served for anti-submarine warfare, reconnaissance and surveillance and disappeared from service at the beginning of the 21st century.
With a short-run kit, expect careful clean-up of the parts and of the seam where the hull halves join. The flat surfaces call for thorough puttying and sanding back. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). A single-color black or dark gray hull is brought to life with fine shading and discreet accentuation of the rivets and hatches; the stand supplied makes display easier.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
