Aviattic: a five-color night lozenge for the lower surfaces, joined strips, 1:48: a decal sheet with the night version of the German polygonal camouflage, with joined strips for comfortable laying onto the lower flying surfaces.
Responsibility details are not available.
An Aviattic decal sheet with the five-color night version of the lozenge pattern for the lower flying surfaces. The widths of fabric are printed already joined, so you cover the undersides of the wings and the stabilizers with a continuous piece of decal without the labor of joining individual strips. The sheet forms the counterpart to the version for the upper surfaces.
German night bombers and long-range machines of the First World War were given covering of preprinted fabric in the darkened version, the night lozenge. Where day machines had their lower surfaces in lighter tones, on night machines the undersides were dark too, so that the aircraft would not stand out against the night sky in searchlight beams. And the lower surfaces are often the most visible of all on a model hanging in a diorama or standing on a mount.
Sand the base smooth and spray it to a gloss. Position the large decal wet and push the water out from the center; around control runs, cutouts and fittings help it with softener and the tip of a brush. Match the direction and the joins of the widths on the underside with the upper surface, so that they carry over at the leading edge. Once dry, add rib tapes and close the surface with a matte clear coat matching night machines.
This is a decal sheet, an accessory to a model. The aircraft kit, the paints and the glue are not included in the package.
