Douglas A-1J U.S. Air Force BASIC kabuki masks (1:48) is a set of accurate self-adhesive New Ware painting masks for spraying the glazing and the wheels of a US Air Force Skyraider model cleanly.

A New Ware masking set at the BASIC level for a model of the Douglas A-1J Skyraider in the US Air Force version, in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki (washi) rice paper tape, which follows the shapes of the frames exactly and lifts off easily with no adhesive residue. The BASIC level covers above all the canopy glazing and the wheel tires.
The Douglas A-1 Skyraider is a single-seat piston ground-attack aircraft with a powerful radial engine, famous for its long endurance and the heavy load it could carry under the wings. In US Air Force service it proved itself supporting ground forces and escorting rescue operations; the A-1J version is among the late production standards.
Lay the mask on degreased glazing, press it home and mask the lower areas with masking fluid or tape. Apply the paint in thin coats so that it does not bleed under the edge, and lift the mask off shortly after it has dried. Kabuki tape is pliable enough even for slightly convex glazing.
These are self-adhesive painting masks, not a model. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
