This set is a resin accessory from the Quickboost (Aires) brand in 1:48 scale, not a stand-alone model of the airplane. It holds faithfully cast barrels of the wing machine guns of a plastic Grumman F6F-3 Hellcat kit in the early pattern. It replaces the simplified parts from the kit with sharp, precisely shaped castings and is meant for experienced modelers.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was an American single-seat carrier fighter of the navy in the Second World War with a potent air-cooled radial engine and an armament of heavy machine guns in the wings. A tough structure and reliability made it the backbone of the fighter defense of the aircraft carriers in the Pacific. The F6F-3 version was the first production rendition committed to the fighting.
These are resin castings for advanced builders. First wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and clean up the cut surfaces, always with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Take care to line the barrels up correctly in the leading edge of the wing. Paint them in metallic shades before fitting.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin set. The kit of the aircraft, the glue, the paints and any other accessories are not included in the package.
