A set of masking templates for the Fieseler Fi 156 Storch in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer AML. The Storch has glazing that hardly any other aircraft of its time can match: the cabin is glazed not only at the sides, but also overhead, and at the sides it bulges out beyond the outline of the fuselage. Masking that many frames by hand is a whole evening's work, and ready-made templates cut it down to a few minutes.
The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch was a liaison and observation aircraft with extraordinary takeoff and landing qualities. Thanks to its flaps, slats running along the whole leading edge and long springy landing gear it could take off and land within a few tens of meters. It was powered by the air-cooled Argus As 10 inverted V-8. It served as a courier machine, an air ambulance and for observing artillery fire.
Mask the glazing before closing up the fuselage, while the parts are still easy to handle. Press the masks down with a toothpick so that paint does not creep under them. Spray the frames with the interior color first and only after it has dried with the exterior camouflage; the transition then looks right even when seen from inside. Remove the masks shortly after the paint has dried.
This is an accessory for a kit and does not contain the model itself. Paints, glue and the kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
