The MiG-21 is a Soviet supersonic fighter with a delta wing and a circular air intake in the nose. The MiG-21PF version belongs to the older machines of the family and differed in its equipment and in the layout of the cockpit, which on a model shows up precisely on the instrument panel. The set is listed in 1:48 scale.
A replacement instrument panel for the cockpit of a model. The instrument panel is the most conspicuous surface when you look into a cockpit, and it is therefore dealt with first: a finished panel saves painting dozens of tiny dials by hand and unifies the look of the whole interior. The qualifier grey in the name sets this variant apart from the other sets in the same range. The exact scope of delivery and the recommended fitting procedure are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Try the fit dry before you close the cockpit up; on some kits material has to be taken off the original part. If the parts are not polystyrene, so that cement for plastic kits has no effect on them, use cyanoacrylate glue and apply it in a small amount so that it does not run onto the visible surface. Protect the finished surfaces with masking tape during further work. Finish and fit the cockpit before you glue the fuselage together, as afterwards you will no longer reach the panel.
The kit, paints, glue and other cockpit equipment are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
