This resin detail set in 1:48 scale from the Quickboost brand rounds out a plastic kit of the Spitfire with a precisely cast flat tank. The part has a clean shape and fine surface detail, which once built in and painted will raise the fidelity of a model. It is not a stand-alone model of the airplane but an accessory for an existing kit.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was a British single-seat fighter with the potent Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engine with a two-stage supercharger. It arose as a quick answer to the new German fighters and was among the most widespread and most successful versions of the Spitfire in the Second World War. It served with a number of Allied air forces.
Wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before building it in, check the fit against the fuselage of the kit and seat it by sanding with respiratory protection if need be. Paint the surface in keeping with the rest of the model.
