About product

USS Texas 1914 - a battleship, 1:700, ROP o.s. (resin)

This resin kit in 1:700 scale captures the American battleship USS Texas as she was in 1914. It is a resin kit intended for experienced modelers.

The real subject

USS Texas (BB-35) was a battleship of the New York class and entered service in 1914. She carried main armament of 356 mm (fourteen inches) and is one of the icons of the American fleet; as one of the few dreadnoughts of her era she has survived as a museum ship. The model captures her early form with tall masts and the side casemates of the secondary armament.

Building and painting tips

Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand them down with respiratory protection. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The model can be built with the full hull or as a waterline model on a stand. Photo-etched railings, aerials from stretched sprue, an airbrush and a uniform hull shade with fine washes to bring out the deck and the superstructure are recommended.

Who the model is for

  • Experienced modelers with experience of resin
  • Collectors of American battleships in 1:700
  • Anyone interested in the fleets of the First World War period
  • Builders of naval dioramas

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
