YMS US Navy 1944 (1:700) is a resin kit of an American auxiliary motor minesweeper, intended for experienced modelers.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin kit captures an American auxiliary motor minesweeper of the YMS type as she was in 1944, in 1:700 scale. The model from the Czech manufacturer ROP is cast in resin and suits modelers with experience of resin. The contents of the package follow the actual delivery.
The YMS were small auxiliary motor minesweepers with a wooden hull that the US Navy built in great numbers during the Second World War. They served to clear the approaches to harbors and beachheads of mines and were committed in the Atlantic and the Pacific alike. They were modest but numerous and heavily used vessels, and their construction went on at dozens of yards.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); sand with respiratory protection. A small vessel will repay careful work on the detail of the deck and the minesweeping gear. The model can be built as a waterline model or with a base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
