The Kits-World 1:72 decal sheet Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress from the Pacific is intended for finishing a model of the older version of this bomber in the markings of machines committed in the Pacific area.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet contains water-slide decals in 1:72 scale for a model of the Boeing B-17E Flying Fortress aircraft and according to the name relates to machines committed in the Pacific area. This is a standalone accessory to a finished and painted model. The particular schemes are illustrated on the packaging; check against it that they match the kit and the version you are building.
Version E was the first variant of the B-17 with a markedly enlarged vertical tail surface and a dorsal fin, which gave the type its later recognizable silhouette. Compared with the later version G it lacks the chin gun turret and has a different arrangement of the rear section. The differences between the versions are great enough that decals for a machine of one variant cannot be used on the other without thought; with camouflaged machines of the early period the form of the national markings moreover tends to differ as well.
Do not underestimate the final clear coat. Once the decals are dry and any weathering is done, spray the model all over with matte or semi-gloss clear. It will even out the difference in sheen between the paint and the carrier film, so that the decals cease to be recognizable as stuck on, and at the same time it protects the markings mechanically. Apply the clear coat in several light layers from a greater distance, as a heavy wet layer could lift a decal or emphasize its edge.
This is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
