Avis 1:72 Bristol M.1D is an injection-molded plastic kit of the British Bristol M.1 fighter monoplane in its postwar racing form.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Avis captures the Bristol M.1 in the D version, the postwar, civil-flown form of this elegant monoplane. The kit is meant to be assembled and painted; it is a short-run molding, with which careful cleaning up of the parts should be expected.
The Bristol M.1 was one of the unusual machines of the First World War: in the age of the biplane it was a pure fighter monoplane with good flying qualities. Because of its higher landing speed and the conservative attitude of the command it reached front-line units only in limited numbers, mostly in the Middle Eastern and Balkan theaters. After the war several machines passed into civil use and appeared as light racing aircraft at the air derbies of the early 1920s.
Glue the thin moldings with a thin cement for plastic and clean up any flash and molding remnants before building. Check the fit of the parts dry. On an aircraft of this kind it pays to prepare the bracing rigging (the bracing wires) and the wing struts. A base of primer and spraying with an airbrush are ideal, with the fine shades left to the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
