A kit of a model of the Italian Fiat G.50 bis AS fighter aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fiat G.50 was an Italian single-seat fighter of the end of the thirties, an all-metal low-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear and a radial engine. It went into action in the Mediterranean even before the war, and with the opponents that came later it kept up in performance only with difficulty. What pilots valued in it above all was its handling and the way it stood up to the rougher conditions of field airfields.
The attribute bis denotes the improved production form, which differed from the original machine mainly in the arrangement of the rear fuselage and in the fuel capacity. The abbreviation AS then refers to the version modified for service in North Africa, that is for an environment with sand, dust and high temperatures. For the modeler that means a clearly defined subject: a machine from a theater where the traces of service on the surface of an aircraft tended to show most.
Try the parts dry before gluing and adjust them gradually, in small steps. Paint the cockpit, the landing gear bays and everything that is harder to reach with a brush once assembled before the whole is closed up. Mask the transparencies before spraying, not only after the paint has dried. The extent of the parts, the recommended procedure and the color schemes offered are given in the instructions enclosed with the kit, so follow those.
The kit itself is supplied. Paints, glue, filler and varnish are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
