An injection-molded plastic model of the British jet fighter Gloster Meteor Mk.4 in 1:72 scale from the Revell range. The model has a detailed surface with engraved panel joints, a cockpit with an instrument panel, detailed landing gear, drop tanks and alternative parts for the fuselage nacelle; the enclosed decals make it possible to build two RAF machines. In 1:72 scale Revell offers this type in the F.4 (Mk.4) version.
The Meteor was the first Allied jet fighter to reach operational service, still during the Second World War. It was powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Derwent turbojets set in the wings. The postwar F.4 version had more powerful engines and shortened wings; it was on the Meteor F.4 that the speed records of the day were set. The type formed the backbone of the RAF fighter force in the first postwar years.
Glue the parts with a model cement for plastic, and fill and sand the joints of the engine nacelles and the fuselage carefully. Paint the cockpit before closing it up. Apply a primer before painting and spray with an airbrush; the glossy postwar RAF schemes reward a good smooth base and fine accenting of the panels.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
