A plastic kit model of the German assault gun Sturmgeschütz III Ausf. E with the designation Sd.Kfz.142/1 in 1:35 scale from Bronco. The boxing is tuned to the deployment on the Eastern Front in 1942. The kit combines injection molded plastic parts with a metal gun barrel and photo-etched elements and offers a faithfully detailed hull surface.
The StuG III was among the most heavily produced tracked fighting vehicles of the Wehrmacht. It was based on the chassis of the Panzer III tank and carried its gun in a fixed superstructure without a rotating turret, which lowered both the silhouette and the production cost. The Ausf. E version was one of the last with the short 7.5 cm StuK 37 (L/24) gun intended primarily for direct infantry support; only the later versions received the long anti-tank gun.
We recommend assembling and fine-tuning the running gear before closing up the hull. Glue the metal gun barrel and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic parts with thin cement for plastic. For the 1942 deployment the base gray (Panzergrau) suits well; build the weathering with washes and pigments using mud and dust effects, and the wear on the edges with a dry brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
