The designation New Version in the name refers to a more recent form of the subject against the earlier configuration of the same truck. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The three-and-a-half-ton cargo truck is the backbone of the logistics of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force. It is a classic military cargo concept: a sturdy frame, all-wheel drive, a cab over the front axle and a cargo bed covered by a tarpaulin on drop sides. Vehicles of this type carry materiel, ammunition and men, serve as a chassis for the most varied bodies and in the field are seen more often than combat vehicles. It is exactly their unobtrusiveness that is the reason logistics vehicles become a popular addition to dioramas – without them every scene reads as incomplete.
In 1:72 scale cleanliness is what decides. Cut the parts off with sharp side nippers and true the gate remnant with a file, because at this reduction every broken corner shows. Assemble and paint the chassis and the wheels before you close the bed up – afterward you will not reach them. Apply the base green finish with an airbrush over a primer and bring the upper surfaces up slightly with a lighter shade, so that the model does not read flat. Bring the tarpaulin of the cargo bed out with a brownish wash, which runs into the creases of the fabric. Finally add dust on the wheels and the lower parts with pigment – on a logistics vehicle it is a dirty state that is the most credible.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
