A masking set for the cabin of the SIAI-Marchetti SF-260M/AM/W 1:72 is cut for the cabin glazing of the Italian trainer from the Special Hobby kit. It serves for a clean sprayed finish on the frames, not for building a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Self-adhesive masks for covering the cabin glazing of a model of the Italian SF-260 trainer and light combat aircraft in 1:72 scale. The set relieves a modeler of the most tiresome part of the work: cutting strips of tape by hand and patching the corners, where the frames go crooked and paint runs underneath. It is neither a model nor decals but an aid for painting. The cuts match the SF-260 kit from Special Hobby in 1:72 scale.
The SIAI-Marchetti SF-260 is an Italian single-engine all-metal low-wing monoplane with a piston engine, side-by-side seating for two pilots and prominent wingtip tanks. The M version is the basic military trainer, the W is the armed version for light support and reconnaissance, and AM denotes the machines in Italian service. From the 1960s onward the type reached training units in dozens of countries and stayed in service for an exceptionally long time.
Wash and degrease the cabin before applying the masks, because fingerprints are the main cause of lifted edges. Transfer the masks with tweezers, lay them onto the part from one edge and press toward the center, so that no air is left underneath. Spray the frames with the interior shade first and only then with the external color, and no light show-through will appear at the edge. Remove the masks before the paint has fully cured.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base Special Hobby kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
