Injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet Sukhoi Su-7BMK fighter-bomber in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Smer. It is a classic kit from a proven older mold, straightforward and undemanding, suitable for collectors of Cold War aviation subjects and for less experienced modelers.
The Su-7 was a Soviet supersonic fighter-bomber with a strongly swept wing and a single jet engine, which became one of the main strike aircraft of the 1960s and 1970s. The BMK version was the export variant delivered to foreign users; under the NATO reporting name the type was known as Fitter-A. The aircraft was rugged and fast, though with limited range and a need for a long runway.
With an older mold, expect to clean up the parting lines more carefully and to do some filling. Bond the parts with thin plastic cement and paint the cockpit before you close the fuselage. A primer coat is recommended and the shades are best applied with an airbrush; bare metal surfaces and camouflage schemes are both common, and a smooth gloss base under the decals helps. Fit the drop tanks and the armament only after painting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
