A 1:72 masking set for the cockpit canopy of the Zeppelin Rammer is an accessory to a kit, not a model. The self-adhesive masks cover the glazing and allow the frames to be sprayed cleanly.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit or a finished model but an accessory to a plastic model that you have to have or buy separately. The set holds self-adhesive masks cut to fit the frames of the cockpit glazing. The subject is a German project machine from the end of the Second World War that remained at the development stage and never entered service.
Wash the clear part, degrease it and let it dry. Lift a mask with tweezers, lay it on the frame and press it down with a soft wooden stick along its whole length. On small cockpits it pays to work under a magnifier or with good lighting so that the mask sits exactly on the edge of the frame. Spray thinly and let each coat dry; a heavy application creates a ridge at the edge that remains visible after the mask comes off.
Cutting tape by hand on small, curved glazing takes time and the edge tends to waver. Pre-cut masks hold the same width of frame along its whole length, so the result looks clean even from close up. All that is left is to finish spraying the surrounding airframe and lift the masks off. With project types that never reached production there is also no single binding color scheme, so cleanly executed frames are what holds a model together visually.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
