Responsibility details are not available.
A plastic kit of the Soviet wheeled anti-tank system 2S14 Zhalo-S, meaning sting, in 1:72 scale from ACE. It is a short-run kit with fine but somewhat more demanding moldings, so it suits more experienced modelers who are used to cleaning up parts and fine-tuning joints. The model captures the self-propelled gun seated on a wheeled armored chassis.
The 2S14 Zhalo-S was an experimental Soviet wheeled self-propelled anti-tank system of the 1980s, built on the chassis of a BTR series armored personnel carrier. It carried an anti-tank gun in a lightly armored turret and was meant to serve as a fast, mobile anti-tank weapon for motor rifle and airborne units, using the speed of the wheeled chassis for hit-and-run fighting. The system remained only at the prototype stage and never reached series production, which makes it an interesting rarity.
As with every short-run set, expect to clean up molding residue and to dry-fit the parts before gluing. Paint the running gear and the wheels before you cover them. For Soviet vehicles a base green coat with an airbrush works well, with edge highlighting, washes into the recesses and pigments for dust and mud on the wheels. The barrel and the turret are the visual highlights - give them your attention.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
