A separate figure of an American tanker with binoculars, cast in resin in 1:35, from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. It is not a vehicle kit but an add-on to a finished model: the figure is built into a hatch, onto a cargo bed or beside a vehicle in a vignette. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The casting is divided into the torso with the clothing, the head, the arms and the small items of equipment. The binoculars at the hand are the most delicate place from the mold's point of view, so handle them carefully right from the removal of the casting block. The mold seam lines run along the sides of the figure and along the inner side of the limbs. The cut of the jacket, the pockets, the belt and the buckles are brought out as raised relief that takes a wash well.
Wash the casting in lukewarm water with dish soap and rid it of the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw away from the detail, sand the faces down and protect your airways while sanding resin. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and apply a thin primer once it has dried. A figure with binoculars has its hands at its face, so try the seating of the arms dry and only then glue them for good — otherwise the optics may not meet the eyes. Build the skin from a middle tone toward a darker glaze in the folds and lighter strokes on the nose and the cheekbones. Paint the clothing from the base shade, bring the recesses out with a dark wash and lighten the edges. Make the leather straps and the case of the binoculars darker than the uniform and leave them a slight satin; the lenses can be suggested with a drop of gloss clear coat. Finally bring the surface together with a matte clear coat.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
