Candy Golden Yellow is an acrylic modeling paint from the Candy line. The line is not built on covering but on toning: the paint is applied over a smooth glossy metallic base that shows through it. The result is a candy effect, that is a finish that shifts, depending on the angle of view, from a bright golden tone to a more saturated yellow.
Where golden yellow suits
Golden yellow is one of the most rewarding candy shades. It is used on the bodywork and tanks of custom machines, on flame motifs on hot rods, on accessories that are meant to look brassy, and on science fiction vehicles, where you want a warm metallic touch without using a real metallic. On small parts it can turn an ordinary silver base into convincing-looking gilding.
For modelers of cars and motorcycles, for builders of science fiction vehicles and for figure painters who want a different metallic tone on armor or accessories than ordinary metallics offer. It is applied mainly with an airbrush; a translucent coat forgives brush strokes considerably less than a covering paint.
