Flaps, the Spey engine and air brakes for a Fokker F28 in 1:144 scale make up an add-on set that deals with the wing, the powerplant and the rear fuselage on the model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is an add-on for a kit, not an aircraft model. It covers more ground than most similar add-ons, though: besides the landing flaps on the wing trailing edge it also takes in the engine and the air brakes at the rear of the fuselage. The model can thus be brought to a state where both the landing configuration of the wing and the shape of the nacelles are right, and the nacelles are usually the weakest point of small kits.
The Fokker F28 Fellowship was a Dutch short-haul jet airliner built for routes with short and poorly equipped runways. It was powered by a pair of Rolls-Royce Spey turbofan engines mounted on the sides of the rear fuselage. It was precisely because of operations from short airfields that it received a pronounced wing high-lift system and an air brake formed by the splitting tail cone, a solution later taken over by the Fokker 100 as well.
Work in blocks and do not try to do everything at once. Dry-fit the nacelles on the fuselage first, because their position decides where the cut for the air brakes will run. The resin castings have casting blocks, which are better cut off with a saw and sanded down than snapped off. Sand the resin wet and protect your breathing, because the dust is fine and stays in the air. Spray the metal surfaces of the engine nacelles with metallic paint last, because the pigment is harder to mask and to overspray.
