Decalcas has prepared decals in 1:24 scale thanks to which a model of the Fiat 131 Abarth takes on the livery of the Seat Competicion team. The set contains only decals for finishing a body and is not sold with a model of the car.
The Fiat 131 Abarth was created out of a family sedan, but under the sheet metal it was a thoroughbred competition tool with a reinforced rear end and lightened parts. The Spanish team Seat Competicion collected results with it on home courses and, with the crew of Antonio Zanini and Juan Jose Petisco, brought the car with the number one to victory at the Rally Costa Brava event in 1979. For the local scene this was one of the high points of the decade. Spanish rallies alternated surfaces at the time and service took place under the open sky, so the durability of a car decided the result as much as the time on a stage.
The angular flanks of the sedan pass into the rounded fender flares, and it is precisely there that a motif most often resists. Apply a thin layer of decal fixer onto the dry film, wait until it gives way and only then press it into the curve with a cotton swab. Without the fixer, a flare will lift the decal and peel it off.
Neither a kit of the car nor paints are part of the delivery.
