An injection-molded plastic kit of the Mitsubishi Lancer EX 2000 Turbo sports sedan in 1:24 scale from the Japanese company Hasegawa. The model belongs to a collector line of historic Japanese cars in which Hasegawa releases the boxy sedans and coupes of the 1970s and 1980s. The number of parts, the exact contents of the package and the extent of the decals are given on the packaging and in the enclosed instructions.
The Lancer EX was the second generation of the Mitsubishi Lancer, introduced at the end of the 1970s, with a boxy three-box sedan body and rear-wheel drive. The 2000 Turbo version stood at the top of the range: it was given a two-liter turbocharged engine and was one of the first Japanese production sports sedans with a turbocharger. The car is tied to the competition activities of the brand at the time and in Japan it ranks among the prized youngtimers.
A boxy body forgives less than a rounded one, so sand the parting lines and the edges carefully, so that they stay sharp. Paint over primer in thin coats and polish the gloss coat once it has cured. Mask the window frames, the trim and the plastic fittings and spray them separately, as a hand-held brush shows on these straight lines. Finish the interior and the chassis before you close the body up, and apply the decals onto a gloss base.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
