The FJ Cruiser is a modern off-road vehicle whose shape deliberately refers to the older generations of the Land Cruiser line. A retro shape on a modern basis

Round headlights, an upright grille with large lettering and a white roof are a direct quotation of the FJ40 off-road type from the 1960s. Under the sheet metal, however, it is a vehicle of the new age: a big six-cylinder engine, a roomy cabin and narrow rear-hinged rear doors that make getting into the back easier. It is exactly that combination that made the vehicle a favorite both among collectors and among people who drive off the asphalt.

Building advice

Apply the red color over a light base, otherwise the shade sinks into darkness and loses its saturation. It is cleaner to spray the white roof separately and join it to the body only once both layers have dried. The wheel arches and the lower edges of the sills can take a darker tone, which brings out the volume of the body. Fit the glazing only once the paint has dried, otherwise the plastic may fog.
