1:24 Toyota Starlet EP71 Turbo-S (3 Door) Early Version (1986) is an injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese hatchback from Hasegawa.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Japanese firm Hasegawa offers this small hatchback as a classic kit in injection-molded polystyrene. Besides the plastic sprues, the box holds rubber tires, a decal sheet and instructions with the building and painting procedure. The treatment matches the early appearance with the three-door body.
The second-generation Starlet with the code EP71 was among the light Japanese hatchbacks built on low weight. The top Turbo-S version received a small turbocharged inline four-cylinder, front-wheel drive and a firmer suspension setting. The combination of a small body and a turbocharged engine earned it a reputation as a nimble car in the corners and, in Japan, a solid racing career in the small classes. The treatment matches the year 1986.
First rid the sprues of grease and nip the parts off with pliers a little way from the part, then level the remains of the gate with a knife. Use liquid cement for polystyrene, which wicks into the seam by capillary action. Give the body a coat of filler primer, so that the scribed lines stand out, and apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. Before the decals, go over the area with a gloss varnish, and once it is dry tie the surface together with a matte or semi-gloss overcoat.
The kit is supplied broken down and without a finish; glue and paints are not in the package.
