About product

Quickboost 1:48 A-10 Thunderbolt II in-flight refueling panel

A resin detail accessory from Quickboost for models of the American Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The set holds the part for the open slipway door over the in-flight refueling receptacle, which can be shown on the model in the open position and so reveal detail that stays hidden on the closed version. It is not an aircraft kit but a stand-alone upgrade part.

The real subject

The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a single-seat ground-attack aircraft intended for close support of ground forces, famous for its powerful rotary cannon and its toughness. The ability to refuel in flight extends the time it can spend over the battlefield; the receptacle is located in the forward fuselage.

Building and painting tips

Wash the part, cut it from the casting block and glue it with cyanoacrylate glue. Paint the inner faces of the door and the receptacle separately and bring out the recesses with a light wash for a sense of depth.

Who the part is for

  • Modelers building the A-10 Thunderbolt II in 1:48 scale
  • Anyone interested in open technical detail on the fuselage
  • Collectors of resin aircraft accessories

The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a stand-alone resin part. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
