A resin detail set from the Quickboost brand in 1:32 scale. It is not an airplane model but a small accessory with which you replace the plastic cover over the on-board guns on the forward cowling of a matching kit of the late Messerschmitt Bf 109K fighter. The casting faithfully captures the shape of the bulge over the synchronized machine guns as well as the fine surface detail, which comes out better from a single piece of resin than from a split plastic mold. The set is meant for more experienced modelers.
The Bf 109K, nicknamed Kurfurst, was the final production version of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter from the end of the Second World War. It grew out of the proven G series and brought aerodynamic changes to the cowling as well as reworked covers over the guns placed in front of the pilot. It is precisely the shape of these bulges that is one of the distinguishing marks of the late versions, and on a finished model it is easy to see.
First wash the part free of mold release residue, separate it carefully from the casting block and glue it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Once varnished, the surface comes into its own with a fine pass over the edges and light weathering around the panels.
This is an add-on resin part, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
