The set holds photo-etched parts of thin metal sheet intended for adding detail to the cockpit of a model in 1:32 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory: the base model you buy separately and the set replaces its simplified plastic detail with finer metal parts. Eduard is a Czech maker that has long specialized in this type of accessory.
In 1:32 scale the cockpit is very large and with the canopy open you really can see into it in detail. Molded plastic runs into its limits here: the instrument panels, the side consoles and the seat belts are only suggested in plastic and at that size it shows. Photo-etched metal is incomparably thinner, the edges look sharp and the surfaces are flat. The difference also photographs well, which will be appreciated by anyone who displays or documents models.
Cut the parts out of the sheet on a hard surface with a sharp knife; do not snap them off. Make the folds in a bender or between two blades, along one edge and without folding back and forth repeatedly, so that the metal does not tire. Usually sand away the plastic relief where a photo-etched part is to go, otherwise the part will not seat. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, or with two-part epoxy, which gives you more time to position it. Leave the pre-printed colored areas as they are and do not overspray them with varnish. Work with tweezers and over a light surface, as small parts are easily lost.
The set is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package. Before buying, check that the set matches the kit you are building.
