The third rendition of the Black Dog civilian line carries the designation 1:32 Driver / civilian pilot N°3. It is a separate accessory to finished models and to scenes where a person in everyday clothes, rather than a uniformed one, should stand beside the machine.
Civilian clothing does not have the sharp transitions we know from uniforms, and that is exactly why it is rewarding to paint. Work from a darker base toward the lightened tops of the folds and blend the transitions between the tones with a damp brush. A thinned glaze running into the grooves will do half the work for you. Only watch the contrast: too hard a difference between light and shadow turns the fabric into sheet metal.
A finished figure looks one way on the bench and another under display case lighting. A spotlight from above deepens the shadows so much that the fine transitions disappear, so it is better to keep checking the result under the same light it will finally be shown in. Try looking at the figure from the eye level of a visitor too, because that is the angle most people will see it from. A matte overcoat also helps, as it prevents unwanted highlights on the large areas of the clothing.
