A plastic kit of the historic Mercer Raceabout 1912 car in 1:32 scale from Smer. A model of an American sporting veteran.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the historic Mercer Raceabout sports car of 1912, in the smaller 1:32 scale from the Czech maker Smer. The package holds plastic parts and separate tires; it is an undemanding kit with a smaller number of parts, suitable for less experienced modelers as well. The model is supplied to be glued and painted.
The Mercer Raceabout was an American sports car of the early twentieth century, which made its name as one of the first true sports cars of its day. It was marked by a lightened open structure with practically no bodywork, simple seats and an excellent power-to-weight ratio, thanks to which it was successful in the races of the period. The 1912 form is among the icons of the early motoring era and is a rewarding subject for collectors of veteran cars.
Join the plastic parts with modeling cement for plastic. With older molds it is worth cleaning off any flash and lugs on the parting lines and deburring the edges before building. Lay down a primer before painting; the open structure of the car puts the emphasis on careful painting of the frame, the rims and the seats. Small metal and glossy elements are brought out with different shades.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
