Art Scale 1:32 SB2C-4 Helldiver, landing gear bay mask is a set of pre-cut masks for painting the landing gear bays of a model of the carrier dive bomber. It is not a kit but an accessory for a build.

This set differs from ordinary masking sets in what it is cut for: it does not deal with the cockpit glazing but with the landing gear bays of the SB2C-4 Helldiver model in 1:32 scale. The shapes are cut to the outlines of the openings of the particular Infinity Models kit, so you can cover the bays reliably when spraying the exterior shades, or on the contrary bound off the area that is to carry the interior color. In itself the set is neither a model nor a kit; it is an aid for painting. In a large scale the bays are clearly visible, and an overspray edge or paint that has run in there draws attention at once.
The real subject
The Curtiss SB2C Helldiver was a carrier dive bomber of the US Navy with a radial engine, an internal bomb bay and large dive brakes. The SB2C-4 version is among the later production configurations. Thanks to the size of the aircraft and to the 1:32 scale, the model has extensive landing gear bays, and setting their color apart from the exterior finish is one of the visible details of a finished build.
Clear the area around the openings of dust and grease first. Lift the masks off the sheet with a sharp point or tweezers, seat them to the outline of the opening and press them down from the center toward the edges so that no air stays under them. Go over the edges once more with a toothpick, because that is where the paint runs under most often. Spray in thin coats and preferably in several passes. Lift the mask once the paint has dried, while it is not yet fully cured, and remove any glue residue with a mild product that will not attack plastic. We recommend finishing the inside of the bays before the openings are masked.
It is a masking accessory for a build, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
